Wow, so I got nominated for best new author in the Children of Time awards. I am so honored. I don't know who did it, but if you read this journal, thank you so much. It means a lot to me to know that you liked my stuff enough to nominate me.
I started this fanfic thing on a lark. I never intended to write, only to read and review, but then I got an idea for a story and figured, "Hey, why not?" What started as a one-shot turned into Only Fingerlengths complete with prequels. That moved to a couple of pieces of Christmas fluff, where I learned that I am much better at angst (probably not the best place to figure that out). Now I'm working on my first full-blown story, so I guess I can't really say it's a lark anymore.
Whatever. I'm in now and I plan to stay. Go vote in the Children of Time
awards. Vote for me, vote for someone else, and certainly vote for the beautiful stories out there. It's important to honor those that put so much effort into writing stories that they make no money for. These are the people who are writing because they love it and for no other reason, which is an admirable quality in my book.
