Characters: Ten / Rose, OC (Kira)
Dislcaimer: I don't own Doctor Who and it's probably just as well that I don't because it'd be nothing but hugs and hair ruffling for the foreseeable future. Title taken from the song "Christmas Day" by Dido.
Spoilers: None for DW; takes place in a world where Doomsday never happened. However, if you intend to read my fic Miles to Go and don't want it spoiled, you might want to wait on this one.
Summary: Carol singing. Enough said.

Rose smiled at the Doctor’s pout as she pulled the knit hat over his ears.
“Rose,” he whined, stretching out the syllable to a length that rivalled only Kira’s. If it hadn’t been mildly annoying, she would have almost found it impressive.
“Yes, love?” she asked, turning away from him to pull on her boots.
“Do we have to do this?” he asked.
She turned and looked at him. He did look a little ridiculous, in his usual outfit of suit, coat, and trainers topped off with a hat, scarf, and gloves. But it was cold and wet outside, and while she didn’t know if Time Lords got colds or not, she wasn’t about to find out over their Christmas holidays.
“Yes,” she said. “It’s important to Kira.”
He gave a little huff, but he didn’t argue any further. Rose knew those were the magic words. If Kira wanted something, he’d do whatever he had to do to make sure she got it.
Kira had decided that she wanted to go carol singing as a family this year. It wasn’t something she and Rose had ever done before, and Rose was pretty sure they were going to look very silly. She wasn’t much of a singer and neither was the Doctor. Kira’s voice was okay, in that it’s-cute-because-she’s-little way. But still. They were more likely to annoy people rather than entertain. She just hoped they didn’t see anyone they know. Then again...
With a mischievous smile, she turned to the Doctor. “Do you think you could take us to another planet for this?”
“Gladly,” he said, beaming, and together they went to find Kira.
