wishiknewwho | Fic Update, Life Update, and Random Miles to Go Trivia (Reply)

Hello all! I have been kind of sporadic on here lately, but I hope that everything is going well with everyone.

We'll start with a fic update. As you can tell, I have not kept up with my promised once-a-week Eyes Wide Open update. It worked for a while, but then I ran out of chapters. I am working on chapter 9 right now, and am almost halfway through, so maybe I'll have it up soon. That fic is a little tough, as it really has no plan. I'm just writing until I reach a point that feels like the end. (Which will be somewhere around chapter 100 if

salimali has her way.)

I have also been kind of lagging because I have started work on something new, a multi-chaptered fic. I have no idea when I'll start posting, as I'd like to either be finished or way ahead, so that I don't get behind again. I don't want to say too much about it, but I am about three chapters in, and am really enjoying writing it. I'll say just three things.

1. It's babyfic. There's something about springtime that makes me want children. Well, not want them, but want to write about them, I suppose.
2. It's angsty. Like even the fluffy parts.
3. It's sort of an alternate take on Miles, although there is no Kira in this one. It's a completely different 'verse. It's just an idea I had that I wanted to play around with.

Now to a life update. Although I graduated in January, I still have not gotten a teaching position. I am not too upset, as it is tough to find a teaching job in the middle of the year. I am substituting, though. If I do not have a job for the fall, I will likely be going to grad school. So yeah, I'll be whining a lot in the next few months.

My husband and I are celebrating two big anniversaries this summer: ten years together and five years married. (Why yes, we were teenagers when we started dating.) We will be going to Disney World, which is kind of our home away from home. I'm so excited I can barely sit still.

And lastly, random Miles trivia. A while back, I looked at a lot of young actresses to "cast" Kira. I had narrowed it down to about five or six girls, and then narrowed it again to two. I finally chose the little twins with the help of

salimali. Imagine my surprise this weekend, while watching Kick Ass, to see my second choice, the girl who plays Hit Girl. She's a lot older now than in the original pics I'd found, and no longer looks anything like I imagined Kira, but how cool is that? Kira Tyler was almost Hit Girl.
