Hey Flist!

In retaliation response to [livejournal.com profile] electrictoes post, I thought I'd see if anyone remembered a couple of awesome shows from back in the day.

Anyone remember Eureeka's Castle?  The theme is actually really familiar to me, but I don't remember much about the show.  I just remember thinking (as a 4-5 year old) how awesome Eureeka's hair was and how I wished mine looked just like hers.  It's strange how things I haven't thought about in over 20 years come back to me plain as day when watching this.

Okay, and what about Prometheus and Bob?  I admit to being a newbie to this (the mister just introduced it to me a couple of weekends ago), but it is so freaking awesome, I had to post it here.

All right, back to writing.

OMG Eureeka's Castle. That's right up there with Pinwheel. Now I'm gonna get all nostalgic on YouTube instead of finishing this fic.

Augh! Pinwheel was awesome! I watched it every day. *follows you to Youtube*

Wow, Pinwheel wasn't familiar at all...weird...

Pinwheel was in the 80's, early Nickelodeon. I think I'd be a totally different person if it wasn't for that channel when I was growing up.

Yeah, it's strange, because I remember that being my favorite show at one point, but now it's not familiar at all. Hmm...did they run Curious George on it?

Oh, Eureka's Castle! That was my sister's favorite. She loved the dragon and I loved the bat. Sigh. I miss Pinwheel too, but I refuse to go check it out on YouTube since that damn song gets stuck in my head often enough that I probably know all the words still. ;)

My all time favorite was Square One though. Anyone else love the math as a kid?

Oh my goodness! I just went to YouTube, because Square One sounded really familiar. I watched a clip, but it didn't look familiar. But then I watched the theme, and yeah, I know it. That song was buried deep in my memory. :D

I watched a clip, but it didn't look familiar.

Probably this is because they had like 20 segments each hour - some were long running bits (Math Net, MathMan, a Dallas-type sketch, the cartoon with the Mountie, etc) and some were one-offs (like the Nine Nine Nine song). Sigh, I LOVED that show.

*goes to find it on DVD for the nephew*

Okay stopping before I drive myself insane.

Yup, that's the one. I can get about 4 lines worth of lyrics, and then my brain just cycles back to the beginning. *sigh* That was the most obnoxiously catchy theme song of the 80s, wasn't it? That or the smurfs lalala theme. Ooooh, or The Song That Never Ends from the Sharon, Lowis, and Brahm (sp?) Elephant Show. *shudder*

...Yeah, I totally had THAT little sister who figured out she could annoy the crap out of me by singing theme songs. Her repertoire also included the jingle for the local cable company, a Mexican restaurant, and Meow Mix. And all this was before she took up the recorder.

My mom made me a Eureeka costume for Halloween when I was a kid.
Have you ever seen Mina and the Count? I loved those shorts.
