wishiknewwho | Telling Some Sekrits and Opening the Request Lines

This is a message for all of the wonderful readers of Miles to Go. I have a lot to say, so please be patient.

First off, I didn't want to tell you this. I wanted to keep it a sekrit right up until the day I posted. But for reasons that will become clear below, I realized that I have to tell you now. There will definitely be more set in this universe. You could call it a sequel (two sequels!) if you wanted, but I am thinking of this as a trilogy, where all the parts fit together to tell one story. Whatever you call it, there is going to be more. I'm sorry if that upsets some of you who wanted me to move on to something else. It's not that I don't want to, it's just that I feel there is a little more to do with these three characters. I feel like I have to tell their story. That said, I will not be posting anything until Part II is completely finished and Part III is planned out. I have a busy semester coming up, and trust me, it will work best this way. I have no time frame at all at this point on when the new story will be posted. It has plot (!!!) that is already giving me fits. It's more of a wait-and-see thing. I'll try to keep you posted, though.

That said, I don't want to leave you hanging all summer. So, I am going to be taking requests. You have all been so encouraging and accepting of anything I've written that I feel I owe it to you. I have a little stockpile of things that I want to write and things that

salimali and

electrictoes have requested. Other than those, what I post this summer is up to you. Here are a few guidelines:

1. I prefer things to be set in the Miles-verse. However, I will attempt anything you give me. You can give me something very specific (Ten freaks out when Kira gets ill-being written!) or you can be very vague (Ten/Rose/dirt-I gave that one to

electrictoes yesterday). The idea, though, is for little scenes from their life, things you'd like to see. I welcome both fluff and angst. If you don't want it set in the Miles-verse, make sure you tell me.

2. Due to things that will happen in the next two stories, I have to ask that requests take place not too long after Miles to Go. Basically, I can't write things like Kira's birthday, because it's in August, or Kira's first date, because that's way too far in the future. When the sequels are finished and posted, I may open up another one of these request posts so that you can ask for stories of this manner.

3. I am sorry to say this is not a first-come, first-served sort of deal. The plot bunnies just don't work that way. I promise to try to write every idea you give me, but I have to do it when I feel like the idea is ready in my mind. It might take me a while for an idea to form into something I can write. Also, I have almost no control over length. One idea might prompt 500 words while another may inspire 4,000. However, there is no limit on the number of requests you can make. If you have five things you'd like to see, I'd love to write them all.

4. Posts will no longer be on Sundays and Wednesday. I simply cannot write that much and write the next part. I will try to post every five to seven days, and the first story will be up sometime next week.

5. There will be a Christmas fic. The way the stories are set up, Christmas happens betwee Parts I and II. However, the Christmas fic will not be written or posted until the holiday season. I absolutely cannot get into the spirit until the time is right.
