Dislcaimer: I don't own Doctor Who and it's probably just as well that I don't because it'd be nothing but hugs and hair ruffling for the foreseeable future. Title taken from the song "Christmas Day" by Dido.
Spoilers: None for DW; takes place in a world where Doomsday never happened. However, if you intend to read my fic Miles to Go and don't want it spoiled, you might want to wait on this one.
Summary: The Doctor and Rose shopping.
Author Notes: I have returned! Expect lots of fic from me this week, as I am behind.

The Doctor looked dubiously at the trolley piled high with toys. He was already carrying a set of bags full of clothes. His eyes widened as Rose placed a chemistry set high on the pile of teetering boxes.
“Are you sure she needs all this?” he asked. He was all for spoiling Kira, but he was beginning to doubt that Kira would even have time to open all of these things on Christmas morning, let alone play with them.
Rose gave him a look, then nodded. “I don’t buy her much during the rest of the year,” she said. “I spoil her at Christmas.”
The Doctor thought then, remembering all the Christmases and birthdays he’d missed. “You’re right,” he said firmly. Looking over the little chemistry set, he removed it from the trolley and set it back on the shelf. “Although, I think we can get her a much better one of these in the 37th century. Fancy a trip in the TARDIS?”
Rose just shook her head and smiled, leading him to the till.

Date: 2009-12-21 04:42 am (UTC)And no, it's not just you. It did that to prologue of my newest fic just the other night. I managed to fix it on my own journal, but couldn't fix the header posts on the comms.
